Our language classes
French classes
Our French courses are the focal point of our activity. They are mainly aimed at company executives and employees, professionals, but also students, stay-at-home parents who wish to help their children with their French homework and retirees who wish to remain intellectually active. Private, semi-private and group lessons of 2 to 6 people are tailored to professional needs and industry realities.
These are dynamic and interactive lessons based on a 1/3 dialogue, 1/3 oral comprehension and 1/3 grammar format. From the start of the course, the level of the learners is determined by an oral and written assessment test. The course materials are based both on classic material (books and copies), as well as audio and video material. The participation of learners is stimulated by the implementation of different scenarios and role plays inspired by daily and professional life.
The evaluation of participants is carried out continuously throughout the session and is sanctioned at the end of the session, by one or more tests in each discipline: oral and written expression, oral and written comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. Business French
The French business class is offered permanently and to all professional learners and company employees and executives. The specificity of this course is that it becomes a specialized course where the business management aspect is emphasized and intensified. For example, if your field of activity is finance, then the emphasis will be on vocabulary, expressions, scenarios and role plays related to the financial sector. Given the fairly sustained level of this specialized class, the learner will be more comfortable if they enter this class at a level close to the intermediate level.
English Classes
The English course is intended for Francophones who feel that their level of English is insufficient or who have no knowledge of English. They may just want to learn English for their general knowledge or need to learn the language for business purpose. Their needs in this regard will guide the choice of class. Although, for those who do not master the basics yet, the professional aspect (emphasis on business) will be considered only once those basics are learned and assimilated. This course is open to all French speakers, regardless of their place of residence since the courses are exclusively online (due to the Covid19 pandemic).
THE LEVELS
Exam Preparation
Exam preparation is generally a service reserved for student or professional clients who wish to improve their level of the foreign language learned in order to better prepare for a specific exam. VLT can help clients prepare and practice their French, for any type of exam. If the learner knows what the conditions are to pass this French exam, this will greatly help in preparation. If the learner does not know, VLT will do the necessary research to find out. The duration of the exam preparation courses will of course depend on the learner's expectations but also on the time between registering for our courses and the start of the exam. Exam preparation courses can last a few days, weeks or even months. Please contact us for more information.
Assessment test
Any registration to the course will immediately be followed by an evaluation test to establish the exact level of the learner. This evaluation test can be short or longer depending on the learner's initial knowledge. In other words, depending on the client's experience of the language in question, the assessment test will consist either of a single discipline, or of a combination of several of these disciplines, or of all these disciplines at the same time, such as oral and written expression, oral and written comprehension, reading, pronunciation, role play, etc. The composition of the assessment test will also depend on the clients needs or expectations.
